Faith Hill Corner

Faith Hill is an American country music singer best known for her country music career.  Faith’s music also crosses into the pop genre.  From 1993 to present, Faith’s music has appeared on the Warner Bros. Record label.

Background

Faith Hill was born as Faith Perry in Jackson, Mississippi on September 21, 1967.  Faith grew up near Jackson in a town called Star, Mississippi.  After starting to sing at an early age, Faith eventually moved to Nashville to start a country music career.  Before her debut album, Faith worked a number of different jobs in her early days in Nashville – she worked as a secretary, sold merchandise for country music stars and sang with the Steeles, a southern gospel group.

From 1988 to 1994, Faith was married to a music executive named Dan Hill.  Faith was later engaged to a producer named Scott Hendricks.  Faith broke off her engagement to Hendricks when she started dating Tim McGraw while touring together on their Spontaneous Combustion Tour.  Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, both country music superstars, are a perfect match.  They married in 1996 and currently have 3 daughters together:  Gracie Katherine, Maggie Elizabeth and Audrey Caroline.

Faith Hill’s career has focused on country music, although a few of her songs have crossed over into the world of pop music.  As her fame grew, Faith signed an endorsement deal with CoverGirl makeup.  She also undertook a brief movie career in 2004 when she appeared in Frank Oz’s remake of The Stepford Wives with Nicole Kidman and Matthew Broderick.

Music / Albums

To date, Faith Hill has released 6 solo albums which, together, have sold nearly 30 million copies.  The names of her albums are:  Take Me As I Am (1993), It Matters to Me (1995), Faith (1998), Breathe (1999), Cry (2002) and Fireflies (2005).  Faith’s debut album, Take Me As I Am, produced a number of country music chart-topping songs, including “Wild One.”  The title track to her second album, It Matters to Me, became Faith’s fourth Number 1 single.  Faith’s third album, Faith, embraced both country music and pop sounds with the track “This Kiss” becoming a Number 1 hit on the country charts and a Number 7 hit on the pop charts.  Faith’s fourth album, Breathe, was an enormous pop hit, winning Faith three Grammy awards and containing 2 chart topping singles.  Faith’s album, Cry, debuted at Number 1 on the charts, but did not enjoy as much success as her prior albums.  Faith’s most recent album, Fireflies, has been an enormous success and achieved double platinum status in January 2006.
